On a trip in August, 2008, I spent 3 nights on Spice Lake, a dead-end, one campsite lake which guaranteed solitude. On one of my mornings there, I was treated to a thick fog. It was very photogenic as it lifted.

I'm a nature photographer who lives in Ely, Minnesota. My work includes landscapes, wildlife and macros. Although many of my images focus on my home state, I do have many photos from places such as Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Grand Canyon National Parks, the Black Hills and Badlands of South Dakota, and the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming. I have been actively selling my images since 1998. My work has been published in Sports Illustrated, Canoeroots, Canoe & Kayak, Paddler and The Boundary Waters Journal magazines.
